▣ Saddle the Service Dog gets a Massage for her 11th Anniversary with Her Partner, Alyson!

What a special call I received last week. A lovely man named Chris called and explained that he needed a very special gift for a very inspirational couple. Chris's sister, Alyson, has been with her Service Dog 24/7 for 11 years. He wanted to surprise the duo with a massage for their anniversary. I was thrilled to be a part of such a touching story so I eagerly awaited our first session.

It became insanely obvious that 13 year-old Saddle was at least 3/4 human being and a 1/4 puppy. She "told" me exactly what she wanted and when she wanted it. We would massage for a few minutes and then she would decide that she'd like to play a little ball. We would play, massage, play, massage, play, massage........etc. She then went on strike until she got a treat....I really have not figured out who was serving who in this relationship but it was rewarding for both so it really didn't matter!

Saddle was "on cue" the whole session and was a tad irritated that it was too hot to go out and work. She is extremely intelligent and her mind was more pre-occupied with what her next task was going to be rather than if my next massage stroke felt good! What fun we had for 2 hours! I can't get enough of this pooch!

Our next session is tomorrow and I expect she will be a bit more relaxed once she knows the routine.......Maybe..Maybe not! Whatever Saddle wants...Saddle gets! We've gotta keep this young at heart pup healthy and happy so her flexibility & mobility will be the number one priority in her life until she retires (like it or not, Saddle girl)!   I'll keep you sposted on Saddle's progress....

Alyson with her beloved companion and Service Dog, Saddle.
